After a short offseason the UpperEdge Racing League returned to action tonight with the return of the Truck Series. The Pre-Season Shootout at Daytona was on deck for a short 35 lap event under the lights to kick off the season. With some minor adjustments to the rules, a full field of registered drivers at the ready, new schemes and the return of the trucks, the stage was set for an exciting night on the high banks.

Profile Machine Products Pole Qualifying set the starting order as drivers went out one by one for a 2 lap run at the fast time. Michael Fenlason claimed the top spot with a 50.126 over Michael Laraia and Corey Hoover.

The short 35 lap race resembled that of an iRacing official race, and meant drivers had to push hard for the duration. The race went caution free and featured great 3 and even 4 wide battles throughout it. Drivers forced the issue when needed, in an attempt to move towards the front in the quick dash. One of the wildest last laps in recent memory saw Ryan Dyson get turned while battling for the lead, collecting several others. This set up a wild run for the last half of the lap that saw Michael Fenlason pass 4 trucks to score the closest win in Truck Series history at 0.015 seconds!
